About Us

There’s a difference between applying a finish and understanding one.

Classic Hardwood Maintenance was built on a straightforward idea: floors that are properly cleaned and maintained last longer, look better, and have less chance to fail.

Before founding this company, Travis spent time as a technical sales representative for an international polyurethane manufacturer, training under the company’s US chemist. That background gives Classic the competitive edge. It shapes every product we select, every step we take, and how our process works. We never settle for anything but the best in the industry, because we’ve seen the entire industry.

Why Maintenance, Why Now?

Years ago, I ran Artisan Hardwood: a full-service hardwood company operating out of the Harrisburg area. Full sanding, staining, refinishes, repairs, the whole thing. A track record of all five-star reviews and a lot of lessons learned along the way.

One of the biggest lessons I learned: most homeowners don’t need any of that.

What they actually want is a floor that looks good again, without a week or more of being out of their house, without the fumes, without the noise, and without a bill that makes them question the whole decision.

Classic Hardwood Maintenance was built around that reality.

Same expertise, same products, focused on what most floors actually need.

The Brands Behind the Work:

loba on top

Loba is our finish of choice…and for good reason. Their waterborne finishes are among the most durable on the market, and have an extremely high success rate.

Their two-component primer system creates a chemical bond between the existing finish and the new topcoat. Most services skip that step entirely. We don’t.

From there, 2K Duo takes over, delivering a finish that holds up beautifully under the daily demands of both homes and commercial spaces.

basic coatings

Every great finish starts long before the first coat is applied. Before anything touches your floor, we use Basic Coatings’ professional-grade cleaning and wax removal products to ensure the surface is completely free of residue, old wax, and contaminants.

It’s an essential step in our process because even the best finish won’t perform the way it should if the prep work isn’t done right.

Behind every beautiful floor is a prep process most people never see. Mirka and Norton make the premium abrasives we trust to get the surface exactly right before finish is applied. Like most things in this trade, the quality of the sandpaper matters more than you’d think — cutting corners here always shows up later. Think swirl marks, uneven sheen, or that dreaded orange peel texture across your floor. The details nobody notices are usually the ones we spent the most time on.
